If you have E-mailed me in the past couple of months, I'm so sorry! My E-mail was deleted and cannot be restored, so I ask you if you have anything you would like to say, please leave a comment on my latest post. Sorry!
Sorry, everyone! It's been such a long time since I've done a review, but now I present the Sunset Shimmer that comes in a 2 pack with Twilight Sparkle! Sunset's face is very similar to the other first wave Equestria Girls dolls. She has glittery eye makeup which works well with her fiery hair. Her deep green eyes and fiery makeup give up a really nice vibe, while also suggesting she may be a bad character, but she is a nice doll! Her hair is a nice two- toned red and yellow combo, which is also soft and easy to work with. Her shoes are red buckled bootd which are plastic molded. On one side, there is an incredibly detailed fire flame. On the left boot, there is no flame. Her full skintone is a peachy/red colour, which her right leg is yellow. Her boot matches a fiery bolt on her leg as well as her boot. Her dress is quite simple, but it's mainly her face that stands out. It has layered ruffles and is one piece. The top is gold metallic, but there is a large orange ruffle over the gold skirt. Her leather jacket is sewn together so it is not removable. Underneath her jacket she has elbow joints, unlike the other dolls, (Except deluxe Rainbow and Fluttershy) Overall, I'm pretty happy with her. I can't wait to get Way Too Wonderland Lizzie Hearts, her review should be up soon! Thank you so much, Dollyconfessions.wordpress.com, for tagging me in the world doll day tag. Also, apologies for being so late! After much problems, the Doll Vault was on hold for a while. Anyhow, I present to you, my doll tag questions and answers! Three favourite dolls you got from last year? 1. As photographed above, Maddie Hatter. She has absolutely wonderful detail and I love the concept of her. As my first Ever After High doll, she completely sold me. 2. Ariel Pop! Vinyl Figure. Ariel is so appealing with her glitter tail, hibiscus hair flower and red, flowing hair. 3. Monster High - School's out Frankie. I find her to be a very classy doll. I'm not usually that sold with Monster High, but she totally changed my perspective! What are three dolls on your wish list? 1. As always, I'll start off with Ever After High. I just recently caught sight of Darling Charming, and I think her color pallete, face, and just all round look looks totally amazing. 2. Monster High - Lagoona Blue. At the start of my collection, I bypassed Lagoona on the first wave. I've heard many doll collectors say how wonderful she is, so if I find her, I'll definitely grab her! 3. Disney Inside Out Disgust Figure. This is more of a figure more than a doll, but I think Disgust is one of the best Disney characters! She's stylish, creative and I love her hair, I just can't wait to get my hands on her! I apologise for not updating this site. It's been, well, months! Currently, it's very hard for me to do a review. You will all get some upcoming reviews, and very soon! Right now I would just like to show you some Ever After High doll photography that I have done in the past few months. Thanks for stopping by! I'd also like to add to the last post and thank Ashley from Confessions Of A Doll Collector's Daughter. She has been so helpful and inspired me to make this website! Yay! My first Q and A! Ashley from Confessions Of A Doll Collector's Daughter kindly volounteered to be a post on my first Q and A. I asked her some questions, and she replied with amazing answers! So here's her Q and A: What's your favourite thing about doll collecting? Answer: My favorite thing about collecting has to be playing with my dolls, which in my case involves photographing them! Doll photography is something I fell into through online forums and have really only been doing for 7 years now. It's definitely made me appreciate my collection in a whole different light. Customizing Pullips and Hujoo's has also become a fun way for me to 'play' with my collection. I'm no artist, but I think my customs have turned out cute so far! What's your favourite doll line (and or) brand? Answer: It's so hard to choose a favorite doll line-- there are so many I love! I collect Barbie's Little Sister Skipper, so it's safe to say she's my favorite fashion doll line. (Chinese Fashion Doll Kurhn is a close second!) My favorite BJD company is Luts. Their creations are gorgeous (but expensive)! And my favorite 18" doll lines are A Girl for All Time and Maru and Friends. Both are so well crafted, it's hard to choose which I prefer. If you could be a doll for a day, which one? Answer: Jem from Jem and the Holograms. Living a life of glamor and glitter, fashion and fame? I'll take it for a day! (Plus, I would love to be able to sing well. Not one of my strong suits!) In the same respect, I would probably want to be Barbie from Barbie and the Sensations one day, too. The 1950's setting would be fun to play in and I would love not having to have a 'reason' to wear a poodle skirt! What's your favourite doll in your collection? Answer: I have so many 'sub collections' in my doll collection that this question is really hard to answer. My most unique doll in my collection is probably my Japanese Skipper. She was only released in Japan and has very different eyes from the original 1964 Skipper. My Madame Alexander Victoria is a favorite of mine, too, for more personal reasons. My mom gave her to me when my brother was born. My mom had received one as a child when her brother (my uncle) was born and decided to keep the tradition alive through me and other little ones in our family. I look forward to the day I can give my future children a Victoria of their own. And then, there's my Big Chief 11th Doctor figure, my first foray into 'action figure' dolls. I have never once regretted my impulsive decision to pre-order him. He's a standout piece, as well. He looks amazingly like Matt Smith. Do you prefer modern or older-type dolls? Answer: Honestly? I prefer older dolls to most modern dolls. One of my sub collections is vintage Hard Plastic Madame Alexander dolls. My small collection of dolls were all made sometime in the 50's. Sometimes, I have to sit and wonder what they saw before I bought them. One doll, a Maggie Walker from the 50's, comes to mind when I think about this-- I bought her at the Doll and Toy Show a few years back. She came with a trunk full of matching, handmade outfits. Clearly, her previous owner had loved her. Unfortunately, the outfits and trunk weren't taken care of well, in the end, and I couldn't keep them. Still, though, the love that the doll was shown in her 'past' life was so evident, I truly wish I could ask her what she saw, who owned her, etc. You don't get that with new dolls. Yes, you get to create memories of your own with them, but there's a spark that you can usually only find on vintage dolls that I love. She runs an awesome website, as mentioned above, which you can check out at dollyconfessions.wordpress.com . It's so cool! I highly encourage any doll collector to check it out! She also has a connected YouTube and FaceBook account. YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/dollyconessions Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/dollyconfessions Wow! I haven't done a proper review in ages! But I've got Raven Queen up today for review. I CANNOT wait to get my hands on Kitty Cheshire! In awaiting arrival of Kitty, I decided to review Raven Queen. (WARNING: THIS REVIEW WILL BE FULL OF NON-STOP HAPPINESS!) For those of you who don't know, Raven is basically the main character of Ever After High. I think she was the 3rd doll in my Ever After High collection. I think her face is probably the most accurate of the first four Ever After High characters. I love it! Her makeup is nice and heavy, suitable for an evil Rebel. I love her collar. It doesn't limit movement, but raises when you move her arm joints up and down. Apparentely I was very lucky to get one that was really well painted and the gem was fully purple. I love her dress. I know I say that about all the EAH girls, but it's true. Her dress is really gothic and is really show accurate. It's in two peices, but I'm not going to remove them. (Apologies for the spell check errors, I cannot change them) Her shoes are really Spectra-Vondergeist-like. I like the feather mold, especially since she's called "Raven." Lastly, her hair does get frizzy quite often, but as long as you keep her comb, you'll be fine. To keep her little mini-ponytail style in, you may have to rearrange it but it's still very nice and loose. That's it for Raven! So far Ever After High has absolutely amazed me. I feel the urge to review and review and review, as you may have noticed.. But I'm REALLY happy with her! I give mattel a huge Kudos! Yay! After heaps of searching, I finally found Tinker Bell!! I haven't opened her, but she hasn't disappointed me at all! Happy late Easter, Everyone! Yay! The Doll Vault is getting more and more popular! Thanks to you all for dropping by and making it a huge success. I would also like to thank those of you who have completed the survey, and by what I can tell lots of you seem very keen for a "Q and A" blog. That's great! Every month I will find a new doll blogger to answer a couple of questions. If you would like to be featured, just send me a quick E-mail in the contact page and I can arrange to have you answer some questions. Thanks so much for making The Doll Vault grow! I couldn't have done it without you guys! Wow.. I haven't done a review in ages! I'm so sorry for all the mess up, and the front page being slightly mucked up. I will definitely have it fixed soon! But here it is, my review of the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls Canterlot High Pep Rally 5-Pack (wow, that's quite a large title!) I'll start off with Luna, the main character in the pack. I think she's the best doll in the pack, mainly because of her hair! It stays neat, while still being extremely soft and nice. Her dress is very unique, with a really nice "Cheerleading" feel. However, it does limit her movement. She can easily sit down, but she cannot move her legs apart. Her makeup is very nice. I really like the softness and color to it, it's very suitable for the princess of the moon. Moving onto Rainbow Dash. I think her makeup is a bit to strong for her character, but it's really nice if it wasn't for Rainbow Dash. She has the same top and skirt combination as the first wave edition Twilight Sparkle. Personally, I don't have a problem with it. Her and the other girls are more of an accessory to the set, so I don't think detail is needed much. I really like her shoes! They're very unique and are a new mood to the old classic repaints, and I feel like they really suit Rainbow Dash! Next we have Rarity, my favourite My Little Pony character! I was really happy with her, but was slightly disappointed to find that she has a loose leg. Nothing major, I just wasn't too happy. Her shoes are quite heavy, which probably contribute to her loose leg. Personally, I like them, especially the color pallet. I also love her dress. I adore the gems! The paint on is very glossy, which works well, suprisingly! You'll notice she comes with a blue and white Pom-Pom. It's really cute and, best, high quality fabric. I think her makeup is really pretty, but one eye was overdone slightly. It's not incredibly noticable though, just a little annoying. Her hair is like Luna's- Really nice! It's a lot different to her usual style, which I really like. Now we have AppleJack. She wasn't really my favourite in the set, mainly due to her shoes.. They don't really fit in with her outfit. Her dress, like all in the set, pleases me a lot! I love the cutie marks in the colours, it really suits my taste. She also has a Pom-Pom, just like Rarity, except it is white and pink. Her face never disappoints me. She always has a really friendly smile, and cute freckles. Lastly, Fluttershy. I LOVE her colours, since I LOVE pink and girly colours. Her dress is really nice and I love the cream colour at the back. Her shoes are slightly plain. They have a cute cutie-mark at the sides, and I think the colour is nice, but they're not really exciting. Her face really reflects of her personality. Her makeup is not heavy, and her lip gloss is just the right colour. She has a really shy expression, they just hit in on the head! That's it for today's review! I was, overall, very happy with this set. It has no major flaws, which a large majority of the dolls I've reviewed so far have made me very happy. I think this is a great set, and I think if you get the chance, try it out! Unfortunately, The Doll Vault will be on hold until about next week. Nothing major, just a little notification in case you get a bit frustrated that your E-mail isn't working or something. I may upload some tiny posts in the next few days, but no major reviews. It will be a bit of a break so I can get all the layouts properly running. If you were thinking about subscribing, don't worry! You can contact me at any time and it will still be absolutely fine. Sorry for the inconvenience! I will definitely be back by next week. |
